Does Shipmate support Force.com free licenses?

Of course! Force.com Free Edition gives you 100 free licenses of a limited Force.com Edition. To learn how to set this up, visit the Force.com Free Edition FAQ page and review the answer to this question:

If I am an existing customer, do I need to open a new account? How do I add the 100 free Force.com licenses to my existing account?

Once you have added the new Force.com Free Licenses, you can customize these licenses so they have access to Shipmate. The benefits are:

  • You’ll have 100 free licenses you can share with your entire company to create and track FedEx shipments.
  • These 100 free licenses can also use Chatter, so users can follow FedEx shipments.

In order to access Shipmate as a Force.com Free Edition user, you will need to complete the following:

Clone and modify the Force.com – Free User Profile

  1. Go to Your Name | Setup | Manage Users | Profiles.
  2. Click Clone for Force.com – Free User Profile.
  3. Provide a name; we’ll use Force.com Free Custom.

  2. Click Your Name | Setup | View Installed Packages.
  3. Click Manage Licenses next to the ZenKraft Shipmate – FedEx for Salesforce package.

Start using Shipmate!

Because Force.com Free Edition users do not have full access to all Salesforce standard objects, these users will not be able to create new Leads, Contacts, Accounts or Opportunities. They can also not see these tabs. However, if they want to create a shipment, they can still ship to any Lead, Contact, Account or Opportunity as long as the data has been entered by another user.

If you are using Chatter, your Force.com Free Edition users will also be able to follow FedEx Shipments to get real-time updates via Chatter. To setup Chatter, follow  this guide.
